Title: Permanency Support SpecialistProgram: Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC)Position Details: Hours: 35 hours/weekly; Mon-Fri, 9a-5pmLocation of Position: Hybrid- 3 days in office (Garden City, Long Island, with the flexibility to work from Queens when needed)Basic Functions of Position: Performs daily tasks to maintain the overall workflow of the Permanency Support Department as outlined below. Provides Assistance to Foster Care and Residential staff as needed.Responsibilities: Processes Notices of Changes and NOA's in internal database (ASARA) and (CONNECTIONS) to complete monthly Billing Processes Census Sheets for monthly billing Assists in ACS/SSPS reconciliation for monthly careday billing Responsible for moving Notice of changes (NOC's) to the SCO shared drive SCO liasion for submitting Social Security requests for tax purposes to ACS Responsible for submitting Putative Father Registry (PFR) applications and results Responsible for gathering Service Plan Review data from Case planners and sending to ACS Responsible for closing out Adoption records upon finalization Responsible for preparing monthly Attorney invoices and sending out Attorney correspondence Responsible for submission of Permanency Hearing Reports through LTS (Legal Tracking System) Distributes Court Action summaries and Court documents to case planning staff Responsible for sending out the ACS/HRA reports to case planning staff Communicates monthly with case planning staff to update internal worker list Responsible for making copies of insurance cards and sending them to the Directors Performing assigned tasks to assist in the overall operation of the Dept, which may include, filing and other functions outlined by the Supervisor Responsible for ensuring compliance with all agency policies, procedures and governmental regulations, including but not limited to HIPAAQualifications:Education/Degree: Associates degree or higherYears of Experience: 1 year or more working in Foster care preferred, but not required Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies and procedures related to the job Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Strong organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills are essential and the ability to demonstrate sound decision making while modeling best practice is critical Solid skills in spreadsheet and word processing programs (MS Office Excel and Word required).Other skills and requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and in CONNECTIONS. Commitment to the mission and programs of SCO Family of Services. Ability to work with children and families that have histories of chemical dependency, mental illness, neglect, physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse, different cultural backgrounds, and varying socioeconomics statuses. Ability to work competently, compassionately, and without judgment with individuals who may identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, or who may be in different stages of discovering or disclosing their sexual orientation or gender identity. Ability to work varying schedules that may cause you to work in excess of your regularly scheduled hours or weekends if necessary. A strong sense of empathy towards our populations served, and a passion for the field of child welfare.
