Schedule: TBD- Weekdays and Weekends, split shifts

Pay: $13.00

Job Location: Russellville, ARPosition Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School diploma and or GED preferred; preferably with one to three years experience and or training; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.

SUMMARY:

The personal care aide will be responsible for the delivery of service on behalf of FCC. The aide must meet all standards in relation to Arkansas Medicaid and FCC. This will include, but not limited to, successfully completing personal care training, holding a valid current certificate, adhering to assigned scheduling, completing review of care, reporting, and billing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties include the following but not considered an inclusive list.

  • Perform authorized tasks as instructed by the supervising RN or QDDP.
  • Maintain a service log.
  • The service log must be completed at the time services are delivered.
  • If the service log is not completed concurrently with service delivery, coverage may be denied.
  • Provide necessary documentation showing the date, time, nature, and scope of authorized services delivered.
  • Provide necessary documentation showing the date, time, nature, and scope of emergency services delivered.
  • If an emergency requires the personal care aide to perform a personal care service task not included on the personal care service plan, the personal care aide must receive, when possible, prior approval from the supervising registered nurse or QMRP to perform the task.
  • When prior approval is not possible, the personal care aide may perform the emergency service task, but she or he must receive post-service approval from the supervising registered nurse or QDDP.
  • Document the circumstances in detail, describing:
    • The nature of the emergency,
    • The action or task required to resolve the emergency and
    • The justification for the unscheduled service.
  • If a personal care aide does not perform a particular task scheduled on the service plan, the personal care aide must document why she or he did not perform the task that day.
  • Must complete 12 hours of additional training per year provided by or approved by FCC.
  • Monitors health status of assigned consumers and documents on appropriate forms.
  • Provide personal care documentation to designated supervisor.
  • Will communicate with the PC-RN and other management staff as requested.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
  • Maintains up-to-date certification in CPR/First Aid and a current health card (TB skin test).
  • Maintains valid Personal Care Aide Certificate
  • Employees may be required to their own personal vehicle at times on behalf of Friendship Community Care company business. Employees must maintain a valid Driver's License and maintain adequate liability coverage on any personal vehicle used.
  • In addition, all employees must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report, as reviewed by the Human Resource Department annually.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Inc., and the clients. Conditions of confidentiality shall be in compliance with Friendship Community Care Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPAA Policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma and or GED preferred; preferably with one to three years' experience and or training; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE: To adhere to the following and comply with all Quality Assurance's & HIPAA procedures:

  • The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed at all times.
  • Consumers' progress notes be maintained and completed daily or as needed on the prescribed forms.
  • Consumers' records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers' records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.
