Care to Stay Home is seeking a caregivers to to join our team. As a Personal Care Assistant you will provide varying levels of care to senior clients in their homes. We will assess your skills to ensure we match you with a permanent client schedule that meets your needs and skill level. At Care to Stay Home we will have a Care Manager always introduce you on your first shift with the client to make sure we have a good match for you.

Responsibilities include: A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) typically performs a range of duties to support individuals in their daily lives, especially seniors. Here are some common job duties:

Personal Hygiene Assistance: Help with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral care.

Mobility Support: Assist with transferring, walking, and using mobility aids like walkers or wheelchairs.

Medication Reminders: Ensure that medications are taken on schedule and as prescribed, though they usually do not administer medications.

Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals, and assist with eating if necessary.

Household Chores: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.

Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in activities to reduce feelings of loneliness, such as conversation, games, or hobbies.

Errands and Transportation: Assist with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and sometimes provide transportation to appointments.

Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in the client's physical or mental health to family members or healthcare providers.

Safety Supervision: Ensure a safe living environment by addressing potential hazards and monitoring for any signs of distress or emergencies.

Assistance with Daily Activities: Help with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, feeding, and managing incontinence.

Record Keeping: Maintain records of care provided, including notes on the client's condition and any changes observed.

Communication: Serve as a liaison between the client, their family, and other healthcare professionals.

These duties can vary depending on the needs of the individual being cared for and any specific instructions from healthcare providers or family members.

Requirements:

Minimum of two years of caregiving experience, preferably with senior clients

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, which include being able to lift up to 40 pounds, help clients of various heights and weights transfer chairs to beds etc, repositioning bed bound clients, and helping on standby by assistance as needed... The role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve client care and mobility requirements.

Home Care Aide or CNA/NAC certification (We offer the 75 hour HCA training to our employees at no cost)

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Commitment to show up to work to provide critical and consistent care to your client

Reliability to show up for shifts on time and enjoy providing companionship and care for seniors to keep them engaged throughout the day.

Ability to pass a criminal background and driving record checks with no felonies.
