Personal Care Attendant - Franklin School District : Job Details

The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, seeks a skilled and experienced personal care assistant to work in the early childhood program at ECDC.Key Duties and Responsibilities:* Adapt to the student's mode of communication as necessary for instructional purposes.* Assists with toileting, feeding, and positioning of student;* Communicate with the teacher(s) on behalf of the student.* Assisting the student to transition successfully from one setting to the next.* Maintains and respects the confidentiality of student and school personnel information* Work with lead teacher to provide pre-academic, social, and emotional support and intervention* Collects data* Performs reinforcement instructional services as delegated by the teacher, including reinforcing activities in the visual, auditory, motor and cognitive areas as well as life skills.* Assists with related services, i.e., occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, adapted physical education, and vision;* Assists the assigned student on and off the van at arrival and departure times* Attends training as required for performance of job. This may include, but is not limited to crisis intervention, CPR and First Aid.* Accompanies the assigned student and assists the teacher during emergency drills.* Completes any other duty or assignments as directed by the Principal and/or Special Education AdministratorQualifications:* Experience as a personal care attendant or certified nursing assistant preferred* Experience in public school setting, preferred* Experience working with pre-schoolers with developmental disabilities preferred* Able to take initiative and work independently* Compassion* Empathy* Reliability
