Davis Medical Center, located in Petersburg, Virginia, is a 94-bed medical facility providing acute medical diagnoses, skilled care, intermediate care, and long-term care to individuals receiving services in DBHDS facilities and within the community that have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Admissions to HWDMC are generally either permanent placement or special hospitalization. Patients typically come to HWDMC as a special hospitalization for step-down to stabilize, post-surgery rehabilitation, or long-term care.Personal Care Attendants will provide one-to-one staffing in a clinical setting where other licensed and certified staff is available to provide care. As a Personal Care Attendant, you can accompany HDMC resident/patient via ambulance where an ambulance staff is available to provide care as needed. Personal Care Attendants will provide 1:1 supervision to patients according to policy, within HDMC and to include patients on special hospitalization. Observe and monitor patient's behavior and redirecting the patient. Intervening during emergency situation to keep from injuring self and others. Assist HDMC/Certified/Licensed staff with personal hygiene care of the resident assigned, including changing and cleaning residents and assisting with changing personal protective undergarments.
