Hastings Insurance is currently looking for a Personal / Farm Lines Processing Technician to join our Underwriting team! Processing Technicians are responsible for accurately processing and entering policy data from source documents into the applicable online system or application. We're looking for an individual who possesses a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to work as a team in a highly transactional environment, supporting our Underwriting division and other essential business functions.
Position Schedule & Location Details
* This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position, typically working Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
* Employees must be able to work at our Hastings, Michigan corporate headquarters, either on a daily basis or a hybrid arrangement of both on-site and remote-based work.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
* Completes accurate data-entry of policy information from source underwriting documents for an assigned product line (Farm, Personal, or Commercial) into our various systems and databases.
* If assigned to the Audit Processing department, interprets policy information to complete mail handling, certification letters, ordering of audits, rating corrections, and call center audits.
* Responsible for meeting daily completion goals and objectives as outlined to ensure excellent customer service standards.
* Communicates positively and proactively with Hastings Insurance underwriters and our agency partners to solve problems and issues as they arise.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Prior experience as a Bank Teller, Office Coordinator, Customer Service Representative, or related is highly desired.
* Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
* Current or past experience using MS Office and business-related software applications.
* Strong Customer Service skills and orientation are required.
* Demonstrated excellent communication ability, both written and verbal.
* Experience in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and prioritize based on urgency.
