We are currently looking for Personal Support Workers (PSW) to work in a Long term Facility. Must be able to work Mornings and/or Evenings.Summary:As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you will be responsible for providing exceptional personal care to our clients. The Personal Support Worker will provide a safe environment, positive emotional support, and thorough care of our patients. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about caring for others.ResponsibilitiesAs a Personal Support Worker, you will:Help clients with day-to-day personal care tasks such as taking prescribed medication, skin, hair & mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care, positioning and movement, basic wound care, and feeding (including special diets).Assist with ambulating and mobilization of patients.Perform related light housekeeping tasks.Recognize and report safety concerns or equipment malfunctions in the client's home to the personal support worker supervisor, and establish communication with the appropriate party in the event of an emergency.Observe, document, and report any emotional or physical changes in the client's condition to the Coordinator or Supervisor.Adhere to safe work/risk management policies and practices.ExperiencePrior experience in assisting clients with standing, walking, sitting; able to reposition clients in bed.Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.QualificationsMust have one of the following accreditations:Graduate from a Personal Support Worker program delivered by a Community College or Board of Education; Career College approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.Home Support Level II, Home Support Level III from a recognized curriculum; or have a valid certificate as a Health Care Aid.Have a valid certificate as an RN, RPN, or Practical Nurse.Have a valid certificate as a Personal Attendant, or Personal Attendant +2.RN Students with a minimum successful completion of 2 years.Personal Support Worker (PSW) students (with successful completion of PA+2 level of training and verification of their transcript and household management experience).Able to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach freely and for extended periods; able to lift 23 kilograms independently.Current First Aid/CPR Certificate.Updated immunization record.Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.Flexible work schedule (Monday to Friday and Saturday to Sunday).Second language is an asset.CompensationBased on assignments.
