Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Trainer with a focus on Specialized Recovery Programs (SRP) and a proven track record in substance abuse recovery support. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of injury rehabilitation, post-surgery recovery, functional training techniques, and the unique needs of individuals in recovery from substance abuse. They will be responsible for designing and implementing personalized training programs that promote recovery, enhance performance, and prevent future injuries.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide great customer service and create a welcoming experience for clients
- Motivate and support clients to help them stay on track with their sense of self-efficacy and capability.
- Track clients' progress and make adjustments to their workout programs as needed.
- Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.
- Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion.
- Educate clients on correct form and alternative moves during a fitness routine
- Give full attention to what the client is saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and do not interrupt at inappropriate times.
- Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to evaluate the client's current health status, goals, and movement patterns.
- Utilize a variety of training modalities, including strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility exercises, and balance/coordination drills.
- Monitor clients' behavior and report any changes or concerns to the treatment team.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, counselors, and other health care providers, to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest research and best practices in SRP and substance abuse recovery.
- Cleans and organizes space after each group fitness class
- Performs related work as required.
Personal Protective Equipment:Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Required License(s)/Certification(s):
- Certified Personal Trainer or in a related field, such as Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or Sports Medicine
- CPR/AED Certification
Education/Experience/Qualification:
- High School or GED diploma required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Certification in a related field, such as Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or Sports Medicine.
- Crossfit, yoga certified is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal training
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, injury rehabilitation principles, and the impact of substance abuse on the body.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients, including those in recovery from substance abuse.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clear instruction and motivation.
- Experience with specific populations, such as athletes, older adults, or individuals with chronic conditions.
- Proficiency in using exercise equipment and technology, including resistance bands, stability balls, and digital fitness tracking tools.
