Under the general supervision of the Personnel Supervisor II, the Personnel Supervisor I is responsible to supervise and provide technical assistance to Personnel Specialists, performing personnel and payroll duties engaged in maintaining an active roster of full-time, part-time, and intermittent positions. The Personnel Supervisor I will review all transactions processed in the unit and assist the Personnel Supervisor II and Staff Services Manager I with the more complex duties applying to departmental policies.

About this location -- Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) is located in the foothills near Jamestown, California, in the heart of the Mother Lode Gold Country.It is adjacent to the Stanislaus National Forest, offering pine trees, mountain streams, and an abundance of recreational activities (fishing, swimming, camping, skiing, golfing, etc.).The prison is approximately 70 miles from Yosemite National Park.
The primary mission of SCC is to provide housing, programs and services for minimum and medium custody incarcerated individuals, to aid in their rehabilitation. SCC is responsible for the training and placement of male incarcerated individuals in the Conservation Camp Program. SCC administers 31 male camps located throughout California.

Personnel record keeping, personnel transactions, payroll, and certification processes used in State departments to ensure accuracy and compliance with the State Controller's Office (SCO). Ability to: Think logically and multitask in order to take appropriate course of action.
