The Pet Adjuster will report to our Assistant Vice President Claims and be based in or near Ocala, Florida. This position will support our Pet Insurance program.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:- Obtain a valid claims adjuster license (upon completion of training).
- Investigate and determine coverage of loss and adjust all elements of pet claims.
- Prepare coverage position letters and handle appeals submitted by customers on claims where coverage is in dispute.
- Utilize specialized knowledge in pet health to interpret and analyze veterinary records.
- Work with broker/partner, customers and veterinary professionals to address questions, resolve problems and maintain rapport.
- Maintain detailed records of claim activities and report on claim status to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in special projects or assist other team members as needed.
- In addition to the above key responsibilities, may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require.
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:- PC literate - good working knowledge of MS Office .
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in typing / keyboarding.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Competent in mathematics.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Possess critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
- Ability to simplify, analyze and explain complex issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and prioritize assignments
Experience:- Bachelor's degree required.
- Pet health knowledge required.
- Small animal vet industry experience preferred
- Experience in Insurance or Legal field preferred.
