Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is a leadership position responsible for the activities and functions of lead pharmacy technicians, pharmacy student interns, pharmacy technicians, and medication history technicians. Reports to the Pharmacy Director, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor ensures services are provided in timely, safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner according to department policies, procedures, and practice standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Provides oversight to ensure standard procedures are followed.
2. Evaluates and monitors team performance by auditing, tracking & trending, and educating & training.
3. Communicates feedback from observed performance and audits to leadership.
4. Directs and motivates individual daily performance toward organizational and departmental goals.
5. Develops schedule in coordination & approval of leadership. Manages timecards and attendance.
6. Develops tech workflow in collaboration with pharmacists, technicians, & leadership.
7. Develop training and onboarding materials for new staff.
8. Ensure required training and onboarding documentation is completed and approved by leadership.
9. Develops agenda for technician meetings and meets on a regular basis.
10. Oversees medication and pharmaceutical supply purchasing processes. Participates in recall process.
11. Assist with reviewing, writing, and creating policy & procedures.
12. Performs other duties as pharmacy technician when needed and supervisor as assigned.
Education Skills Experience
Required:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Minimum Experience: 2 years
* PTCB Certification (active)
* License: Registered Pharmacy Technician (active & in good standing)
oConnecticut Department of Consumer Protection for those working in CT
oBoard of Pharmacy for those working in NY
Desired:
* Computer skills, ability to multi-task and work independently.
* Completion of one to two years of college preferred
