CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-Exempt LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA 90001JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for serving patients by identifying the best method for retrieving specimens, preparing specimens for laboratory testing and performing screening procedures (in a mobile setting)ACCOUNTABLE TO: Clinic LeadJOB DUTIES: Responsible for the timely collection of patient laboratory specimens consistent with federal and state regulations, including of the following:
Complete mobile blood draws.Manage monthly patient lists for medical testing, including follow-up testing as required by state guidelines.Review, post, and disseminate all laboratory results in a timely manner.Track all documents from the laboratory for accuracy and compliance.Prepare specimens for shipping.Maintain appropriate inventory for all laboratory procedures.Maintain an organized and sanitary work environment.Provide input into overall treatment program philosophy, treatment services and patient care.Prepare reports for participation in treatment team meetings.Provide consultation to team members regarding lab testing, results, and other relevant patient issues.Ensure the maintenance of quality patient care.Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with patients.Meet BHG attendance standards and be present and ready for work at the beginning of their established work schedule.Report any work-related injury or illness, or workplace hazards or security issues immediately to supervisor.Responsible for ensuring CLIA Waiver requirements are maintained and communicated to team member responsible for maintaining treatment center licensure.Consistently demonstrate and uphold CCCHC's principle of providing quality health and human services to the medically underserved and low-income populations in a culturally sensitive manner.Punctuality and Attendance: This is an essential job duty for CCCHC's employees given the impact on patients. - Reliable transportation, auto insurance, and current CA Driver License required.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Certified Licensed Phlebotomist required.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
