Roles and Responsibilities: Treats and takes measures to prevent disability or other health conditions using physical, chemical and mechanical means, such as heat, cold, light, water, sound, electricity, massage, mobilization and therapeutic exercise. Performs and interprets tests and measurements to assist in diagnosis and prognosis. Collaborates with members of interdisciplinary health team in planning and evaluation of treatment. Maintains treatment area, orders supplies, keeps records and prepares reports. May supervise student's training in physical therapy or Physical Therapist Assistants. May make home visits. May accompany patients on shopping or travel excursions to assess their abilities in these situations. Minimum Qualifications1. A Baccalaureate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college and a valid New York State license to practice physical therapy as provided for in Section 6730 through 6734 of the New York State Education Law; or, 2.
