Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a forward-thinking vision to elevate the department's national standing in patient care, education, and research.
- Clinical Excellence: Oversee clinical operations to ensure the highest standards of patient-centered care, including advanced subspecialty services such as urologic oncology, robotic surgery, female urology, and minimally invasive procedures.
- Educational Innovation: Support and expand the residency and fellowship programs, emphasizing mentorship and the development of the next generation of urologic leaders.
- Research and Scholarship: Cultivate a robust research agenda, with opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration and external funding acquisition.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (M.D.) or equivalent with board certification in Urology through the American Urological Association (AUA).
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Urology Residency, with additional fellowship or specialty training highly valued.
- Academic credentials qualifying for the rank of Professor or Associate Professor within the LSU system.
- Demonstrated history of leadership in academic or clinical settings, showcasing strong administrative skills and a proven ability to cultivate collaborative and inclusive environments.
- Expertise and interest in managing complex general urologic diseases, with a preference for candidates proficient in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic surgery.
