With a long history of leadership in the paper industry, Pixelle delivers the most comprehensive portfolio of specialty papers to help you meet today's challenging demands.Job DescriptionRoleResponsible for supporting pilot plant operations including coating preparation, material handling and coater operations. Also functions as liaison for the business center building along with pilot plant.Duties & Responsibilities* Responsible for maintaining and running pilot plant's coating kitchen.* Responsible for maintaining inventory of raw materials and paper for products/trials that are made in the pilot plant.* Plan and make down coatings per specification.* Measure and record key coating properties.* Operate pilot coater, winder, microcapsule plant and other supporting test equipment.* Maintain good records, including batch sheets for pilot coater trials and other relevant technical data.* Liaison for maintaining building and pilot facilities. Work with contractors and mill maintenance as needed.* Support PD group's trials in the mill and capsule plant.* Use safe work practices at all times.Qualifications* Associate's degree preferably in natural science/math/engineering or equivalent experience (3-5 years);* Experience with making coatings desirable.* Strong mechanical aptitude is desirable.* Language skills - Ability to respond to common inquires.* Math skills - Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as determination of quantities of coating components, test reliability and validity.* Physical demands - Ability to lift and move coating materials between 50-75 lbs.* Reasoning - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.* Must be able to work in a team environment and be able to multi-task.* Industrial truck /forklift certification desired.* Computer skills - Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Access), Outlook, database systems (e.g. SAP).Additional InformationCompetitive healthcare benefit package and 401K match.
