This position is responsible for configuring, installing, fitting, and maintaining various piping systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of those systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.
Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.
Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps, cuts or bores holes prior to project.
Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Any vocational training is strongly desired.
Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Other Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and stretching to install and repair pipes and pipe fittings.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must possess visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints.
