This role is vital in ensuring the successful completion of our projects by providing essential support in laying pipes and performing various general labor tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with our construction team.Who we are: T2 Contracting, Inc. is a Veteran Owned Small Business specializing in civil infrastructure, commercial construction, septic tank installation, land clearing, and forestry mulching services. Known for unparalleled knowledge, experience, and expertise, T2 Contracting stands out in both Federal and Private Industry contracts.Key Responsibilities:The PIPELAYER/GENERAL LABORER has all the authority vested in her/him from the LEADERSHIP TEAM. The PIPELAYER/GENERAL LABORER is given the necessary authority to manage and administer the basic functions of this position. This includes specifically:
  • Assist in staging all materials that are needed ahead of time.
  • Assist in hooking and unhooking pipe straps so pipe can be lowered or raised in and out of the ditch.
  • Help to manually locate existing utilities.
  • Assist as a spotter with operators to avoid equipment damage to any property.
  • Notify Foreman when supplies and tools are damaged or low. (i.e.: soap, clamps, lost target, broken transit, stone...).
  • Assist in proper chain, cable, and strap connections to move material and equipment for operators.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and material from getting damaged or lost
  • Relay instructions given to other crew members.
  • Assist operators in servicing the equipment each day such as fluid levels, greasing, clean out tracks and cab, etc.
  • Alert Foreman or Superintendent of any unsafe conditions observed.
  • Assist in leaving jobsite secure and orderly manner (i.e. holes covered, trash picked up, signs in proper place, safety cones and barrels) installed at proper locations, equipment parked in proper place, including tools.
  • Wear safety gear (PPE) at all times while on the jobsite.
  • Train others and receive training as needed for continuous development of skill sets.
  • Perform all manual labor needs throughout the project as necessary to support operations.
The ideal candidate should possess:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work any shift, including 10-12 hour shifts.
  • Experience with working on Military Facilities is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to pass a background check to work on Military Facilities.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Pipelayer or General Laborer.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong understanding of safety rules and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
