Able to read print layout and build vessel. General Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, above average communication and organizational skills. Above all must be a team player with high level of dedication. Experience as a pipe welder. Working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand/walk up to 90% of the workday; occasional bending, squatting, ascending ladders/stairways, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Ability to assess weights and judge distance and heights is necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: Pipe and Vessel Fabrication Efficiently and accurately operates welding equipment and related tools necessary for manufacturing and production. Required to read prints and drawings accurately and follows all work instructions. Required to interpreted blueprints and schematics/isometrics. Use your specialized knowledge to create new piping systems and repair existing ones. Ability to perform a wide variety of weld types at a high level without much supervision. Assembling, installing, and repairing pipe components and systems according to specifications. Preparing working materials by clamping or cutting. Examines work pieces for defects and measure work piece with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications. Dismantles metal assemblies or cuts scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment. Connects hoses from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture. Climbs ladders or works on scaffolds. Reports any discrepancies and safety related issues to shop foreman. Performs any task, assignment, or project assigned by supervisor and shop foreman with expeditiousness and accuracy to accommodate production flow. Must inspect and repair all defects and discontinuities before Quality Control Inspector is called, makes repairs to substandard welds.
