Duties for this position involve performing planning duties specifically related to the design and analysis of transit services. These analyses are used to create various reports for response to inquiries and complaints regarding route performance and design.General DescriptionPerforms advanced professional planning work in the area of transit service activities and planning transit service operations.Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsRequires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Urban Planning, Geographic Information System (GIS), Geography or closely related field.Special Certifications and Licenses RequiredMust possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license for duration of appointment.Preferences2+ years transit service planning, transit operations, and/or public transportation experience1+ years demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel or business intelligence platforms to monitor performance measures, synthesize data and build charts, graphs, tables, and reports1+ years demonstrated experience using service planning software (e.g., Remix, Hastus, or similar)1+ years demonstrated experience in ESRI ArcGIS and related suite of products to create maps, perform spatial analysis, and build storymaps/dashboardsForeign Language Proficiency (Spanish, French, French Creole, or Portuguese)American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) CertificationGIS Professional (GISP) CertificationMaster's degree or higher in a field of study related to the area of assignmentDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class.
