Covanta's state-of-the-art facilities have a track record for delivering industry-leading quality, innovation, and employee satisfaction.JOB SUMMARYIn this role, you will utilize your mechanical expertise to provide mechanical and electrical maintenance support of all phases of mechanical equipment/systems at the Facility. This will include installation, troubleshooting and repair, preventative and predictive maintenance, and documentation of work on the equipment/systems via a PeopleSoft CMMS in a way that maximizes equipment reliability and unit uptime. In addition, you will provide general technical support for rotating equipment issues in order to identify and initiate repairs, upgrades, perform root cause failure analysis, and operate and maintain equipment.RESPONSIBILITIESCreate preventive and repair job plans for maintenance notifications or work orders from assigned plant areas, providing all necessary details (material required, drawings, special tool requirements, coordination with contractors, etc.) in job packagesCollaborate with the Lead Mechanic Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors to support execution of planned workCollaborate with technicians, boiler and reliability engineers to develop task list for maintenance plansServe as primary backup to Maintenance Supervisor or other Lead Mechanics during absences, vacations, etc.Review all work orders for compliance with all environmental and safety requirementsActively support and collaborate with buyer, storekeeper and other site personnel as needed to manage maintenance backlog in a way that meets the business needsSupport site work management process (i.e. updating BOMs, improving job plans and task list, etc.)Provide technical leadership where appropriate for specific repairs in the unitsBe a leader and a mentor to other technicians within the maintenance functionPerform other maintenance related task and assignments as requested by maintenance leadershipEvaluate and analyze equipment history and predictive maintenance data and trends to assist in the anticipation of plant maintenance needs, prioritization and planning of workQUALIFICATIONS1+ year of power plant maintenance planning and schedulingExperience with steam turbine and fuel boiler maintenance planningPrior mechanical maintenance experience required; electrical a plusLeadership experience a plusHighschool or GED requiredCompany is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to diversity in our workforce.
