GeoXO is NOAA's next-generation Geostationary Extended Observations satellite system, designed to revolutionize how we monitor Earth's atmosphere and oceans. GeoXO will deliver critical data to improve forecasts and increase preparedness for severe weather, air quality events, and harmful algal blooms. By enhancing public safety and delivering significant economic benefits, GeoXO represents a transformative step in safeguarding lives, property, and our nation's resilience. This is a hybrid role that only requires onsite support four days per week. Key Duties:
- Create and maintain detailed engineering release plans and supplemental schedules using Microsoft Project, including what-if scenarios and risk mitigation models.
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly schedule updates, ensuring accuracy in dates and the percentage of work completed, while adhering to Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) best practices and compliance standards.
- Lead regular Schedule Status meetings with Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads, engineers, and Cost Account Managers (CAMs) to ensure alignment across teams.
- Collaborate with downstream consumers of engineering products to communicate schedule updates throughout the project lifecycle, from the Advanced Product Structure Process (APS) through the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) phases.
- Assist with Schedule Merge meetings between Engineering and Program Planning, ensure vertical traceability to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and support Quantifiable Backup Data (QBD) for IPTs, CAMs, and Program Planning.
- Produce and report on engineering health metrics, such as burndowns, late starts, late finishes, and forecast accuracy, using the SWORD dashboard.
Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- 3 or more years of experience planning and scheduling for engineering projects/programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project for developing and managing engineering schedules.
- Strong understanding of DCMA scheduling best practices and compliance requirements.
- Experience facilitating schedule status meetings with cross-functional teams, including IPT leads, engineers, and CAMs.
- Knowledge of IMS development and schedule traceability.
- Ability to analyze and communicate schedule changes across the project lifecycle, from APS through PDR and CDR phases.
- Experience generating and interpreting engineering health metrics (e.g., burndowns, late starts, forecast accuracy).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Bachelor's degree.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Familiarity with the SWORD dashboard for reporting engineering metrics.
- Experience supporting government contracting or aerospace/defense programs.
- Understanding of Demand Management Processes within engineering projects.
- Previous involvement in risk mitigation modeling and what-if scenario planning.
- Strong analytical skills with experience providing Quantifiable Backup Data (QBD) for program planning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse technical teams.
- Master's degree.
