Job title: Scheduler/Planner Location: White Planis, NY Duration: 12 months (Potential Extension) Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Project Planner/Scheduler to support project managers and engineers in capital and O&M projects within Utility Operations. The Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for developing, updating, and analyzing project schedules, ensuring milestone compliance, and coordinating with engineering, design, and project management teams to ensure timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and update project schedules in coordination with project managers, engineering teams, and subcontractors.
- Oversee monthly schedule inputs from various stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.
- Generate and distribute progress reports, tracking project milestones, work delays, and overall project status.
- Analyze schedule data and provide actionable recommendations for project planning and execution.
- Ensure alignment between cost forecasts and schedule forecasts, escalating any discrepancies.
- Implement process improvements to enhance schedule accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate and correlate schedule information with cost and resource data for resource-loaded schedules
- Ensure project baselines are set and maintained according to NYPA guidelines.
- Review and analyze third-party schedules, ensuring logical ties and critical path adherence.
- Identify and communicate potential schedule risks and opportunities.
- Incorporate contractor-provided schedules into the Master Schedule.
- Participate in project team meetings and collaborate with cost analysts to review cost and schedule alignment.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate across multiple teams and organizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with MS Project required; familiarity with Primavera P6 preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP and Maximo is a plus.
- Experience in cost/resource loading and earned value management is a plus.
Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project or program scheduling.
- Experience in the electrical utility or large-scale construction industry preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), AACE, or similar certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of schedule analysis, milestone management, baseline management, CPM, and time contingencies.
