Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced MP&L (Materials Planning & Logistics) Manager to oversee the material planning and control functions at our facility in the Tupelo, MS area. This role will primarily focus on managing the supply chain processes within operations that support the industrial industry. As the MP&L Manager, you will act as the key point of contact with customers, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of products.
What You'll Be Doing:
Serve as the main customer service representative for the MS location
Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and maintain production schedules and forecasts
Partner with the Engineering Manager to coordinate product launches, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering changes
Work closely with the Quality Manager to support customer satisfaction and vendor performance initiatives
Coordinate with the accounting team to resolve inventory discrepancies and improve control processes
Supervise MP&L staff in warehouse and production planning functions
Oversee plant purchasing and vendor release operations
Monitor inventory adjustments and lead the cycle count program
Establish and implement departmental procedures
Approve departmental expenses and participate in budget planning
Maintain key performance metrics, providing regular reports
Conduct annual performance evaluations for the team
Key Deliverables:

Management of premium freight costs
Efficient inventory management (turns, days on hand)
Budget adherence and cost control
Safety, cleanliness, and contract compliance
What We're Looking For:
A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field
A minimum of five years of experience in MP&L or a related role
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
Knowledge of industry standards and processes (EDI, PPAP, etc.)
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and BOM structures
Proficiency in MRP and scheduling systems, with experience in SAP being a plus
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Analytical and mathematical aptitude
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous leadership experience
Experience mentoring and developing team members
Expertise in inventory control management
Familiarity with SAP or similar systems
