JOB TITLE: Plant Automation TechnicianJob Code:Pay Grade/Code: 9HClub Car boasts a 60+ year history of industry-leading innovation and design, initially focused on golf cars and then expanding to commercial utility vehicles and personal-use transportation.GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Plant Automation Technician will perform various types of mechanical and electrical maintenance on production tools and equipment, as well as support new equipment installations. Automation technicians will also be responsible for advising engineering teams on standard practices within Club Car automation. The role will also provide support for production lines and perform other maintenance services as required.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Participate in the setup, configuration, and validation of new plant equipment.* Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement new automation projects.* Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocols and procedures.* Respond to and resolve troubleshooting calls on the production line promptly and efficiently.* Diagnose and repair issues related to DC torque tools and tool controllers.* Occasional on-call coverage to assist with resolving critical production issues* Experience with process equipment controls and machine automation including positioning sensors, safety sensors, PLCs, and HMIs.* Connect to, interpret, troubleshoot, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).* Ensure PLC systems operate efficiently and effectively to minimize downtime.* Understand the basics of networking, static IP vs DHCP, subnetting, and the importance of avoiding IP conflicts between devices.* Support equipment installation and plant modifications as required.* Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.* Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.* Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.* Prepare reports on equipment performance and downtime incidents.* Update technical documentation and standard operating procedures as needed.* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.* Stay current with advancements in automation technology and recommend upgrades.* Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and production staff to resolve issues.* Provide training and support to team members on automation systems and equipment.* Collaborate with our Environmental, Health, and Safety team and plant leadership to resolve/prevent potential safety hazards.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.* Must be able to work overtime as required, including expanded shifts, weekends, public holidays, and alternate shifts as required for business needs.QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOBEducation:* High School Diploma/Equivalent required.* Technical school or military training is preferred.Experience:* Minimum of 5-7 years relevant Maintenance or technical background in a similar role.* Industrial safety training.* Able to perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and components.* Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.KEY COMPETENCIES* Strong mechanical and electrical/electronic aptitude.* Strong time management skills.* Strong creativity in problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.* Strong collaboration with various teams.Club Car is a diverse and inclusive environment.
