Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Leads efforts to achieve a Zero and Beyond culture, eliminate all injuries, and positions the plant as a good community partner through our Corporate Social Responsibly efforts.
* Leads and directs all plant operations to meet the performance goals of the business team and corporation through superior leadership and delegation/mentoring of departmental managers.
* Analyzes the overall performance of the operation and drives continual improvement in plant performance resulting in year to year productivity improvements, optimal inventory levels and turns, and superior delivery performance.
* Standard bearer for our Operational Excellence philosophies driving our lean six sigma efforts to eliminate waste, improving day to day operations and empowering all associates with a passion and culture for continual improvement.
* Demonstrates a passion for Talent Management hiring and developing the best associates and leaders in the industry in both the hourly and salaried ranks.
* Manages labor and employee relations in accordance with the collective agreements, federal/state legislation and corporate policies ensuring pay rates, promotions, demotions and termination of employment are applied consistently and with due process and diligence.
* Reviews capital, expenses and material/facility usage to ensure plant operates in a cost effective manner, recommending and approving all major purchases of equipment, material and supplies for the facility.
* Provides direction and leads the preparation of the Plant annual business plan and budget. Sets objectives for all departments consistent with meeting business plan/metrics.
* Works with sales and product management to optimize customer relations and plant productivity.
* Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Key Requirements
* 10+ years manufacturing management experience
* Proven track record navigating union locations
* Project and Change management experience
* Results driven self-starter with the ability to work in a high performance-manufacturing environment.
* Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to motivate, communicate and lead continuous improvement.
* Excellent analytical abilities.
* Demonstrated talent and safety leadership that translates into results
* Good understanding of business principles and practices and ability to apply them
* Familiarity with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
Qualifications
Education
* BS in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or equivalent
* Master's Degree and/or Belt certification a plus
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
* Works out of a normal office environment with standard office equipment available.
* Will be required to sit, bend, kneel, squat, use keyboard, read, write, and speak fluently.
* Employee will regularly be required to lift and carry objects of 10-25 pounds as needed.
* Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 25-30 pounds as needed.
* Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, highly pressured environment and be able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crisis.
* This role is not typically exposed to adverse environmental conditions, except excessive eye strain and possible lifting injuries
* When travel is necessary, will be exposed to typical travel environment and surroundings
