Job Description :
The Plant Director is responsible for managing the blending, packaging, maintenance, and distribution operations within the facility. The individual in this position will ensure the company's strategic plans are implemented along with the responsibility of building a safe, quality, and efficient operation. This position is responsible for developing and executing expense budgets, along with capital improvement budgets.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function:
  • Possess strong collaboration skills.
  • Provide the vision for the facility to align with corporate direction for the company.
  • Present data about the facility to upper management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop strategies for improving safety culture in collaboration with the EHS corporate Manager.
  • Evaluate processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency.
  • Establish and document standard operating procedures and ensure adherence by the team.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
  • Lead team members in the development and implementation of lean manufacturing programs.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute manufacturing and distribution metrics.
  • Ensure performance and trending analyses are completed and corrective actions are executed.
  • Lead the operations manager in managing budgets.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, receiving, and shipping of finished goods and raw materials.
  • Collaborate with the EHS team to ensure awareness of safety policies.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering on relevant manufacturing information and technology.
  • Lead team members through feedback, training, and encouragement.
  • Establish performance expectations and provide regular feedback.
  • Investigate performance concerns and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on complaints and performance concerns.
  • Manage the hiring process for direct reports.
  • Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with the supervisor.

  • Be professional in all interactions.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONSAn individual qualified for this job must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • Five (5) years in a Plant Manager position.
  • Fifteen (15) years' related experience in manufacturing and/or chemical industry.
  • Verifiable track record of effective leadership in a manufacturing facility.
