MAU is hiring an Engineering Manager for Mannington Mills in Madison, GA. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead plant engineering initiatives, oversee site projects, and drive continuous improvement to enhance capacity, reliability, and operational excellence. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information

* Monday to Friday | 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Required Education

* Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

General Requirements

* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and/or Six Sigma methodologies

* Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes, including maintenance, repair, planning, and scheduling

* Familiarity with rubber manufacturing processes (a plus)

* Hands-on experience with Calenders, Presses, Steam Systems, Automated Packaging Equipment, and other manufacturing equipment

* Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and understanding building codes

* Comprehensive understanding of safety principles and practices

* Knowledge of state and local safety, fire, construction, and public access regulations

* Excellent communication, relationship-building, leadership, team building, and negotiation abilities

* Ability to work collaboratively across various levels of the organization

* Skilled in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

* Flexibility and adaptability to handle competing priorities effectively

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP

* Experience with CAD software (a plus)

* Availability to work off-shift hours as needed

Preferred Requirements

* 3-5 years of proven experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or production control environments

Essential Functions

* Continuously monitor plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, address issues promptly, and identify areas for improvement.

* Oversee and inspect facilities for regulatory compliance, ensuring repairs are cost-effective and establishing criteria for repair versus replacement.

* Lead the strategy for controls and operating systems of plant equipment, providing troubleshooting support to Plant Mechanics and Electricians.

* Plan, develop, and prioritize projects and weekly work plans, ensuring materials are ordered, designs are completed, and budgets are adhered to.

* Coordinate and monitor work orders, including estimating labor costs and procuring materials and equipment.

* Train, equip, and motivate maintenance technicians to perform their tasks safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

* Track, analyze, and improve key maintenance metrics, such as asset utilization, maintenance costs, inventory levels, PM compliance, and schedule adherence.

* Enforce the maintenance department's safety program, reviewing safety records and ensuring all activities meet high safety standards.

* Collaborate with Plant Operations to align maintenance activities with operational goals.

* Implement and oversee programs to maintain plant cleanliness.

* Assist with planning and executing plant improvements and expansions.

* Supervise shop operations, including scheduled equipment setups and preventive and routine maintenance activities.

* Manage equipment maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.

* Oversee plant security, including shutdown and lock-up procedures, and coordinate with external security services.

Supervisory Responsibility

* This position supervises Maintenance Engineers, Mechanics, and Electricians, managing SAP timekeeping and ensuring technicians are trained, equipped, and motivated to execute maintenance safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Responsibilities include planning and prioritizing projects and weekly work plans, ensuring materials are procured, designs are prepared, and maintaining budgets.

Work Environment or Working Conditions

* This role occasionally involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, fumes, and extreme heat in certain manufacturing facility areas. Safety equipment, such as eye protection and hearing protectors, is required during machinery operation. Noise levels vary from moderate to loud depending on the work area.

* Strenuous activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, climbing, and walking.

* Exposure to hazardous chemical solutions and extreme heat.

* Availability for 24-hour emergency calls.

Physical Demands

* This role requires regular hand use for handling, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional reaching. The ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds is necessary. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The employee must also be able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 175 feet.
