Role Responsibilities:
- Plant Health Care (PHC) manager is responsible for overseeing the management of all day-to-day operations within the Plant Health Care division. This includes scheduling, ordering of materials, communication with vendors, monitoring of properties and development of written communication on condition of managed landscapes.
- Oversee the proper execution of all signed PHC contracts for Summerhill PHC.
- As the Plant Health Care (PHC) manager you are responsible for the coordination of the production schedule. Ensure that all work is executed on time.
- As PHC Manager you are responsible for the development of the weekly schedule and will familiarize yourself with all programs and mechanisms by which the schedule is created.
- Responsible for executing all applications in accordance with NYSDEC laws. This includes neighbor notification in accordance with DEC law prior to applications being made, proper posting of property prior to applications being made and ensuring each application is made in accordance with pesticide label.
- Monitor properties for insect, fungal and abiotic problems. Also scout for issues with lawn, annuals, perennials, irrigation, new plantings and exterior of house to enhance customer experience and ensure Summerhill maintains their properties to the highest standard. Submit written evaluation of all observed problems to relevant staff.
- Maintain DEC applicator annual report sheet. Responsible for submittal of annual pesticide usage report.
- Responsible for reviewing daily production sheets at completion of each workday.
- Oversee inventory of all materials necessary to execute PHC and Lawn Care services and ensure production can continue uninterrupted through the season. This includes ordering products in a timely manner.
- Maintain a current DEC 3A pesticide applicator license.
- Stay current on horticultural best practices by attending conferences throughout the year.
- Maintain open lines of communication with Summerhill managers including maintenance, landscape and irrigation foreman to ensure properties are maintained to the highest standard.
- Identify air spading opportunities during the season.
- Prepare year end summary of treatments with improvements or changes for client PHC program.
