The Plant Human Resources Manager leads and directs the HR functions within the plant, including driving Paragon's culture, providing a strategic mindset to plant leadership, managing retention programs, as well as providing guidance and direction on benefits, leave and other company policies for employees. This role works collaboratively with the Corporate HR team. This role exemplifies our culture to our people, living out our core values and mission statement.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Participates in recruiting efforts for their designated plant, working with the Talent Acquisition Coordinator to identify new candidate pools and ways to attract top talent in the market. This process includes screening, interviewing and onboarding of all hires
* Work with plant leadership to develop a talent strategy to plan for future growth and talent needs, retention and succession planning.
* Ensures consistency and fairness in enforcing company policies while maintaining compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, provides recommendations to plant leadership and corporate HR team on best practices and policy changes based on NC employment laws.
* Maintains the HRIS through communication with corporate HR with accuracy and minimal supervision, ensuring the completion, organization and implementation of all employee documentation required and for processing via HRIS.
* Assists with benefits program for the North Carolina Plant working with Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to assist employees with new hire enrollments, annual open enrollment, maintenance, benefits questions and guidance for employees on-site.
* Collaborates with Plant Manager and corporate HR to determine employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale in line with corporate values and culture.
* Leads the planning and the coordination of frequent company employee relations and holiday events, which may occur during or outside of regular business hours.
* Ensures company policies and values are enforced and recommends coaching, performance review topics, disciplinary actions and/or terminations, provides guidance and direction to managers on dealing with employee concerns or issues.
* Adheres to all legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions, helping minimize opportunities for risk or exposure to the company.
* May prepare information requested or required for compliance, assist with ensuring all compliance related tasks are completed for the North Carolina plant.
* Provides education and coaching to plant personnel to ensure employees in assigned plant location are adhering to the Employee Handbook, ensuring consistency throughout the plant.
* Work with Corporate HR to drive employee engagement and develop retention programs, work to develop and implement other strategic employee oriented programs and ideas to further exemplify Paragon's culture and core values.
* Establishes and recommends in-house employee and management training programs and/or leadership courses which address company and employee needs across division lines, schedules and provides New Hire Orientation, as well as other training opportunities.
* Work closely with the Safety Manager and Safety Coordinator to prepare, implement and train employees working at the North Carolina location on all hazards and ensure proper working procedures are followed in completing tasks with minimum amount of risk to employee and Paragon property while driving safety to a number one priority; ensures that Paragon's program meets all required mandates.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
* Proven experience in a Human Resources related role, experience in full cycle recruiting
* Solid knowledge of employment law
* Working knowledge of MS office
* Proficient with HRIS systems, preferably ADP
* Well versed in online recruiting platforms
* Well organized, ability to prioritize and self-motivated; ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once and handle unexpected delays while maintaining constant attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to prepare and deliver trainings and presentations to various groups
* High level attention to detail and problem-solving ability; excellent discernment when evaluating situations and employee issues, ability to maintain strictest level of confidence
* Practice and promote teamwork and servant leadership style within the organization
* High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality
EDUCATION
* Associates degree or 3 or more years of progressive experience within the HR field with progressive responsibility
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
* PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
* Experience working closely with safety programs
