Job Title: Plant HR Manager
Position Overview: As the Human Resources Manager at Bridor's new Industrial Baking Facility in Salt Lake City, UT, you will play a crucial role in establishing and leading the HR function for a plant currently under construction. This position requires extensive HR experience, strong leadership capabilities, and strategic insight. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with Bridor's business objectives, fostering a positive work environment, and overseeing talent acquisition, training, and employee engagement initiatives as we prepare for operational launch. A greenfield start-up experience is highly desired.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel: For the first year, there will be extensive travel to various Bridor plants, including locations in Vineland, NJ, and Boucherville, QC (Canada).
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Planning: Develop and execute HR strategies that align with Bridor's goals and contribute to the successful launch and operation of the facility.
- Employee Relations: Address employee relations issues, provide guidance to management, and mediate workplace conflicts to maintain a positive work environment.
- Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment and retention efforts to build a skilled workforce in preparation for the facility's opening.
- Training & Development: Implement and oversee training programs to enhance employee skills and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Performance Management: Manage performance review processes to ensure consistent and equitable evaluations.
- Compensation & Benefits: Administer compensation programs and benefits plans, including Health and Welfare, 401K, and Workers' Compensation, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all employment laws, regulations, and company policies, managing compliance-related filings and maintaining accurate employee records.
- HR Policy Administration: Update and enforce HR policies and procedures, including the employee handbook, to maintain a fair and compliant workplace.
- Employee Engagement: Promote a culture of engagement and motivation through various initiatives to create a positive work environment.
- HR Metrics & Reporting: Maintain HRIS records, generate monthly reports and dashboards, including KPIs, to provide insights to management.
- HRIS Experience: Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable. Manage HRIS operations, ensuring accurate data management and efficient HR processes.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with significant exposure to HR functions in food-related manufacturing or process manufacturing environments. SPHR certification is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws, HR practices, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, with hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of management
- Strong mediation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address high-risk situations effectively
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion in handling sensitive information
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to learn new technologies as needed
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively to Vineland, NJ, and Boucherville, QC (Canada) as required
