**Asphalt Plant Loader Operator PL0721**

Sanders Brother Construction is currently seeking a Loader Operator to support Sanders Brothers Asphalt plant and crusher yard operations . The Asphalt Plant and Crusher Yard are a critical component to Sanders Brothers 50+ years of success in the asphalt paving industry and requires dedicated workers to ensure productivity. The Loader Operator will be responsible for operating heavy equipment around the plant and crusher.

**Role and Responsibilities**

* Will be responsible for heavy equipment operation, assisting the foreman and other plant/crusher employees and support all plant operations

* Operate heavy equipment (loader, skid steer and aerial lift) around plant and crusher.

* Monitor equipment to ensure proper operation and prevent equipment failure due to improper or over usage.

* Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.

* Keep company vehicle, property and equipment clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or problems.

* Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.

* Perform any other general duties as specified.

* Proficient in SBCCs Lock-out/Tag-out Policies & Procedures and all other Safety regulations.

* Proficient in Plant Preventative Maintenance Plan and can perform independently.

* Follow all DHEC requirements for plant operation.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**

* 1-3 years experience in basic equipment operation.

* High School diploma or its equivalent is required.

* Demonstrates a leadership/training role in preparing Plant Laborer I for advancement.

* Ability to comply with and identify potential safety concerns.

* Lift plant components up to 50 pounds

* Must have the ability to stand, kneel or sit for long periods of time.

* Work at heights of up to 100-feet and move in a variety of body positions

* Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.

* Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.

* Flexible availability to include overtime, weekends, and nights and may require periods of on-call time.

* Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.

**Preferred Skills**

* Possess basic computer skills and have the ability to read technical manuals and understand schematic diagrams.

* Experience working in Asphalt, concrete or other large industrial plant setting.
