Plant Manager
Responsibilities include directing and supervising the manufacturing, safety, sanitation, shipping and receiving functions. This individual also has a responsibility to ensure and maintain a food safe environment through compliance to all requirements of programs/policies for Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, SQF, Workplace Safety, IPM, OSHA, Environmental, and as may require by Plant, Company, State and Federal mandates or programs.
Job Functions:
- Direct and manage plant operations for warehouse, production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving.
- Coordinate plant activities to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Identify and execute cost savings initiatives in compliance with corporate goals including labor, shrink, overtime, cost of quality, purchased goods savings, etc.
- Ensure seamless integration of new equipment, products, processes, and customers into the facility in accordance with corporate standards and best practices.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Create, implement and train employees with proper SOPs.
- Scheduling production and shipping preparation.
- Ability to follow HACCP / SQF plans and GMPs.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies and local city government.
- Work with Distribution, Sales and Customer Service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Team Recruitment and Team Building.
- Weekly Scheduling of Employees.
- Inventory of Raw and Finished Goods.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- MUST have considerable knowledge of the food industry, industry methods, USDA regulations and food safety/microbiological programs.
- MUST be an exceptional problem solver who can anticipate the variable(s) chain reaction effect on production planning.
- MUST be hands-on and technically proficient with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred.
- SQF Practitioner.
