Job DescriptionGpac is seeking a highly motivated Plant Manager for our client company's growing team. The Plant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the facility while promoting continuous improvement through strong leadership. This role would be based in Upstate New York and provides relocation assistance for those not in a commutable area. Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct and run day-to-day operations.
- Achieve goals set for the production facility.
- Lead the facility in establishing and meeting continue improvement objections
- Develop processes to increase productivity and enhance performance.
- Delegate production assignments to appropriate teams and personnel
- Promote all safety/quality policies and procedures while supporting their continuous improvement efforts.
- Foster a well-trained and motivated team by encouraging and supporting the development of all plant employees
- Provide operational and employee leadership to the facility
- Assist executive management with budgeting, production statistics, cost analysis, justification of capital expenditures and asset management.
- Reporting of plant KPI's
- Maintain 24 hour/day on call availability to deal with potential problems/issues.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree Business or related field.
- 15-20 plus years' experience of leadership role within planning or supervision in a food manufacturing facility (pet food manufacturing experience highly desired)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and abilities
- Working knowledge of production equipment
- Proactive problem-solving skills
- Quality System background or foundational knowledge.
- Experience with ERP, WMS and batching software.
