Plant Operations Manager - Ainsley Search Group : Job Details

Ainsley Search Group is seeking a Plant Operations Manager to join our National Manufacturing Client in the Berks County Area. This role will be responsible for overseeing value stream operations, driving continuous improvement , and optimizing process efficiency in our manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure production meets quality standards, delivery goals, and cost-saving objectives. We are seeking someone who can grow into a multi-site plant leadership role as they continue its expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the fabrication and assembly value stream, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manpower, process, and materials to optimize production flow, increase efficiency, and reduce costs and waste.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and procurement teams to implement JIT processes.
• Manage plant operations, including quality, safety, maintenance, and production control to achieve operational targets.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO), safety regulations (SHE), and external/internal audits.
• Oversee capital projects and engineering initiatives aimed at improving process capacity and equipment reliability.
• Collect, analyze, and monitor key performance metrics, focusing on process capability, cost reduction, and overall operational efficiency.
• Act as a change agent, leading and mentoring teams in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices like 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions with the quality team to improve product output and reduce re-work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in plant operations management, value stream management, or production management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop teams.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing practices, including Continuous Improvement (CI), Value Stream Mapping, and 5S.
• Familiarity with automated processes, fabrication, and machining is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience with plant maintenance, capital projects, and process automation.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
