This company, a global leader in helping people keep their homes and businesses healthy and comfortable, is looking for a Plant Operator for one of their business' Operation and Maintenance groups. The company partners with companies to provide design-build and post-build operating and maintenance work for all companies. In this situation, the work is based on a long-established working contract to support power and steam operations in a municipality in the Northeast.The role will be very similar to those who have worked in control room operations in the military or who understand maintenance operations. The site operates core technology regarding steam and gas turbines, boilers, and other auxiliary equipment used to produce the power and steam necessary for its local customers. You will be part of an 8?10-person team that will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the technology. The Hiring Manager is a former Navy mechanic (nuclear) who understands the value of a military veteran and is specifically desiring to add more veterans to the workforce. Who are you? You are a person who enjoys working on mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems that impact the power and flow of other systems. You should be a naturally curious person who enjoys finding out why there is a problem and getting charged up around helping to address and fix it.This is a small team, so you should be a good cultural fit for the site and company: caring about your work and doing so safely. It would help if you also had a strong desire to be in this part of the world as the Northeast part of the US is beautiful and provides great schools and endless options of where to settle down. The site is less than 1 hour from Groton, CT, just outside of downtown Providence, RI.The role will require a shift rotation.Hourly wage in the low to mid 30's per hour (DOE), plus guaranteed overtime, plus any work on Sundays is 1.5 the normal wage rate.
