The plant is a 24/7 operation with about 175 employees. The building is approximately 150,000 square feet and produces molded fiber products. These products include egg cartons which are made from recycled materials and molded fiber hinged lid containers and plates made from virgin fiber.
Responsibilities:The Plant Scheduler (production scheduler)focuses on the high-level management of production schedule for the plant. It is the main contact between the plant and corporate planning and is essential for corporate planning and plant operations alignment. Daily interdepartmental communication required to help the entire plant achieve established goals and KPIs. Key performance includes but not totally limited to safety, quality, and productivity, efficiency, on time shipments, inventory levels and financial results.
Essential Functions and scope of responsibility:
Create and maintain master production schedule on daily basis.
Communicate with corporate planning frequently for high-level planning of plant, production timing, and maintenance.
Ensure that every employee involved in the production process has a clear understanding of what is required to meet the order and needs of customers.
Work hand-in-hand with other employees to make sure that all issues that are related to scheduling are properly handled and resolved.
Use labor and resources in the most cost-effective manner.
Facilitate MRP process and manage inventory levels.
Help rectify and/or reconcile output & financial differences and inaccuracies.
Maintain master data for packaging components, work-in-process, and finished goods.
Analyze production floor status through input/output control reporting.
