This position reports to the Plant Manager.This position is Night Shift 6 PM - 6AM EST- Wednesday/Thursday offPrimary Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:Ensures the timely processing of pans throughout the processWorks closely with the plant manager to schedule shift timesCommunicates well with the plant manager utilizing both written and verbal skillsHolds employees accountable for their actions and ensures all employees follow the correct proceduresIn the absence of the plant manager, schedules trucking and shift start timesCompletes work-ordersEnsures die molds are ready for upcoming production runsChecks the specific gravity of the glaze material and adjusts if necessaryWorks closely with employees utilizing a “hands-on” approachMakes any needed mechanical repairs when possibleIs responsible for the housekeeping of the plant both inside and outsideChecks the first pan glazed at the start of each glazing operation to ensure proper coverage and makes adjustments if necessaryEnsures trucks are loaded correctlyEnsures pan count is correct and constantly checks the quality of the entire processEnsures all employees are utilizing the proper PPE at all timesEnsures any required safety checks are performed and documentedImmediately notifies the plant manager or supervisor of any quality issuesReports any unsafe conditions to the plant manager immediately and corrects the problem if possibleUnderstands and is familiar with all other job descriptions, operations, and hazardsPerforms other job duties as the plant manager deem necessaryQualifications, Knowledge and Skills:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, company handbook, and procedure manuals.Ability to regularly stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feels objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk, hear, taste and smell.Must be able to lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
