• Lift the steel onto the table using the overhead crane.
• Set the machine to torch the material by using oxygen and fuel gases such as acetylene and nitrogen.
• Selects the appropriate torch tips/plasma setup and evaluates the gas pressure and mixture.
• Thickness of metal, data charts, and previous torching history may determine torch tips/plasma setup, cut speed, and cut height.
• Adjust the torch cut height for optimum cutting and monitor this process throughout the cutting of the metal.
• Monitors the cut to ensure the finished product meets the customer expectations.
• A burn table operator must be able to read a tape measure, wheel gauge, micrometer, charts, and architectural drawings.
• Will also learn how to run the saw.
