PLC Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionYou would be responsible for the set-up and maintenance of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on equipment used in the production process. You will work directly with the Engineering team to supervise and improve processes for output and waste levels. You will be responsible for providing leadership and ownership of process performance issues. This role reports directly to Production Maintenance (engineering) and indirectly to Production.Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all electrical systems used on all production equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on designated production equipment as specified in the PM Program or as needed to ensure smooth operation.
  • Assist Engineering with the installation, debugging, and start-up of all equipment, and maintain and adjust vision systems within defined parameters.
  • Maintain equipment logs on assigned equipment, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems. Document all process changes using approved control change procedures.
  • Ensure all safety and environmental procedures are maintained.
  • Provide Production Supervisors with relevant information on equipment and process performance, including production and waste information.
  • Provide leadership to other associates in problem-solving of production equipment.
  • Coordinate and support other maintenance activities as needed.
Essential Skills
  • PLC experience
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot systems by drawings
  • Proficiency with multimeter troubleshooting to identify where voltage is and is not present
  • Experience with electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V
  • Understanding of AB PLCs, VFDs, relays, and ladder logic
  • Mechanical experience with hydraulics, vacuum pumps, roller and materials conveyors, gearboxes, and SERVO motor replacement
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to change panel view and download programs to the new panel view
  • Experience with CAM systems
  • Mechanical aptitude with an electronic focus
  • Experience in automotive or any manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • Robotics experience is helpful but not necessary

Onboarding starts on Mondays. The plant operates 24/7 and employs about 900 people, making it a large environment.
