About the Role:
Job Summary
Installs, repairs, replaces and inspects pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain heating, water, gas and drainage. Responsible for performing in a general trade skill capacity with minimum necessity of continuous supervision and job execution direction.

* Minimum Experience: Five (5) years prior work experience in lieu of license or certification.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
* Responsible for demonstrating well rounded general trade skill capability and capacity to perform job task assignments. Knowledgeable and proficient at trade skill assignments. Properly provides and maintains own personal required tools.
* Responsible for proficient reading and interpreting project design blueprints relative to trade. Proficient in correlating plan dimensional information and layouts to task assignment requirements. Double checks all layouts for accuracy prior to any work installation. Notifies supervisor promptly of any irregularities or discrepancies noted in work installation relative to design document specifics.
* Responsible for supervising helper and apprentice assistants. Identifies daily work assignments for assistants. Supervises and trains assistants to maximize production.
* Responsible for organizing tools and specific job assignment material support. Maintains daily inventory of daily tool requirement needs for crew and make prior-day arrangements for necessary adjustments. Coordinates with supervisor daily as to project task assignment materials requirements. Supervises assistants in daily replenishment of job assignments material needs. Inspects crews tools regularly for proper maintenance and safety. In-services trade assistants in proper use of all tools to be utilized.
* Responsible for daily task assignment quality control. Establishes daily performance expectation of crew supervised. Verifies appropriate selection of materials used in work. Verifies accuracy of all layout and control measures in accomplishment of work.
* Responsible for assisting in project task job assignment material takeoff and daily storeroom inventory material acquisitions. Assist supervisor as requested in regular project task assignment. Assist in delivery receipt and verification of material deliveries. Provide timely notification to supervisor of any material irregularities or untimely delivery problems reported. Provides departmental materials manager proper advance notification for pick up and delivery of company storeroom and local vendor materials.
* Correctly utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment.
Area/Unit Specific Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
* Plant Operations: Domestic water and sewer system maintained to ensure optimum performance. Analyzes domestic water problems and makes necessary repairs, and returns to service with minimum down time. Analyzes sewer system problems and makes necessary repairs. Provides proper documentation on preventive maintenance system. Assists other maintenance personnel in performing repairs and preventive maintenance on support systems. Properly documents repairs, adjustments and parts on work order requests.
* Knowledge and skill necessary to make repairs and maintenance on water and sewer system through the use of manuals and blueprints. Reads and understands plumbing system blueprints. Understands and interprets plumbing service manuals. Make necessary changes to existing plumbing system blueprints to reflect added plumbing fixtures.
* Properly plans installation of new plumbing fixtures and piping. Conducts survey of proposed location to determine feasible and practical installation. Installs new plumbing fixtures in compliance with Georgia State Plumbing code requirements. Coordinates installations in a manner to ensure minimum inconvenience to patients and employees.
* Emergency situations and assignments responded to appropriately. Analyses plumbing problems, repairs and returns to service with minimum down time. Assists other maintenance personnel in performing repairs. Maintains material for normal and emergency repairs.
