Closes: 12/19/2024 Plumber Apprentice Reports to: Utilities Specialist Salary (Grade): $18.71 (G13-E) Status: Reg., Full-Time (Non-Exempt) Location: Facilities Department located in Winnebago, Nebraska Job Purpose & Position Overview This is skilled technical work in the installation and maintenance of all tribal commercial and residential plumbing systems. Work involves the performance of varied types of maintenance and some installation of all tribal building plumbing systems to include repairs. Tasks following established routines in and around all tribal facilities. Specific instructions are received on all unusual jobs. Occasional heavy lifting is required and work is inspected while in progress and/or upon completion for adherence to instructions and work standards. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribes core mission, vision, and values.
- Assist supervisor to assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.
- Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, hot water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
- Repairs and maintains all plumbing fixtures, for all tribal facilities.
- Repairs and replaces existing tribal heating and air-conditioning systems.
- Maintain and repair tribal water and sewer systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including working evenings and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid Drivers License and be insurable under the tribal insurance.
- Water Operator Certification is preferred or must be willing to attend training for certification.
- Minimum of one-year experience in general plumbing duties.
- Must have computer skills.
Training Requirements:
- Must attend all department meetings and training courses as required or directed by Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager.
- Must pursue and obtain Water Operator Certification if not already certified.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal to Heavy office work which includes the ability to lift up to 50+lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
- While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
Mental Requirements:
- Reading, writing, calculating

- Works with minimal to no supervision
Language Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
