Position Summary
Position performs duties as a skilled Plumber, utilizing the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the Plumbing Trades. Inspects, repairs, and maintains all plumbing and related mechanical operations, including heating and ventilating, and the distribution systems in accordance with the provisions of the plumbing codes, pertinent plans, and specifications or work orders.
Salary Information
Starting hourly rate will be $50.85, $51.69, or $52.51 per hour, depending on the amount of paid leave selected. The position is in pay schedule/range is 04-00. A twelve month probationary period is required. This classification is included in the Building & Trades Bargaining unit.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Qualifications
Must possess, maintain, and carry a valid license issued by the State of Wisconsin, Department of Safety and Professional Services, to allow for performing plumbing installation, maintenance service and repair of institution equipment and systems as an unrestricted Master Plumber OR a Journeyman Plumber with the ability to obtain a Master Plumber license prior to the end of the twelve month probation period. This would include required continuing education to maintain these credentials.
