* Responsible for performing plumbing and other residential and commercial inspections covering a full range of projects.
* The inspector is responsible for analyzing detailed information, reading building plans, conducting plan reviews , and reporting findings of investigations and inspections.
* Experience with complex plumbing systems for compliance with the appropriate building codes, applicable regulations, and approved plans and specifications is preferred.
* Becoming a Plumbing Inspector would allow you to be involved with property development within Lake County, ranging from new residential homes and remodeling to non-residential projects.
* Your day will consist of working with your department peers and county residents in their development projects, in addition to working in county communities through our intergovernmental agreements.
* You will have endless opportunities to impact and make a difference within Lake County.
* Being able to build working relationships with employees, 30 countywide departments and the public, is sure to keep you interested and continuously learning.
* Valid plumbing license from the State of Illinois.
* Individuals should have a working knowledge of the State of Illinois Plumbing Code , International Residential and International Building Code.
* Demonstrate strong proficiency in the use of technology.
* Possess the ability to effectively solve problems and could work both individually and in a team atmosphere.
Physical Requirements:
* Required work will involve driving or sitting for extended periods of time, standing or walking, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis, and high dexterity in operating office equipment, including a keyboard, phone, etc.
* The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision and the ability to hear and speak to understand, respond to, and build relationships with clientele.
