Position Overview: Our Plumbing Mechanic, under general supervision of a master plumber, assembles, installs, inspects, alters, renovates, maintains and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of HVAC, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Job Requirements:
- Investigate and analyze all types of plumbing, heating, and drainage calls, and satisfy them in a timely cost-effective manner.
- Coordinates with Dispatch and management team to ensure work orders are accurately received and attended to in a timely manner based upon established goals and service standards.
- Install heating and related equipment and/or components in a residential setting (e.g. unit heaters, pumps, boilers, hot water heaters, safety controls, valves, etc.) with the purpose of ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Manage repair costs while minimizing inefficiencies.
- Maintains tools, supplies and/or equipment (e.g. torches, cutters, drills, test equipment, filters, control components, fan blades, gaskets, seals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items and equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Manage and maintain appropriate inventory ensuring availability of required parts and equipment on an ongoing basis.
- Work on various items, systems and/or components (e.g., heating units such as: steam and hydronic boilers, hot water heaters, forced air, and hot air systems.) for the purpose of providing renovation and preventive maintenance of heating/air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
- Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
- Must be able to work independently, and have good customer communication skills.

- A thorough understanding of plumbing standards, rules, regulations and safety standards is required.
- Experience with boilers and hot water heaters is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints is desirable.
- General knowledge of electrical wiring.
- Ability to install/repair gas piping, water piping, near boiler piping and the sweating of copper piping.
- General knowledge and understanding on the sequence of operation regarding Domestic Hot Water heaters, Furnaces, Coils, Condensers and Boilers to perform routine maintenance.
- At least 3 years of service plumbing experience or heating install experience in a residential setting is preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- Plumbing certification and/or training from an accredited technical school is preferred.
- Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
