Given the numerous transformation projects in Global Supply Chain (GSC) North America (NAM), we need to establish a robust Project Management Office to oversee the following: Project Governance:
- Track and prioritize major projects based on business priorities and resource availability
- Maintain project roadmap for ongoing and future projects to manage resource needs and priorities
- Establish project governance based on project size and criticality
- Ensure timely project reviews and stage gate validations
- Standardize project management practices and reporting structure
- Establish a 'Centre of Excellence' for project management best practices
- Monitor compliance with policies and standards
- Provide executive leaders with project assessment information and interface with them on project priorities and challenges
Project Management:
- Ensure projects meet defined timelines and budgets
- Support project managers in addressing progress-hindering issues
- Allocate appropriate resources for each project
- Involve and inform all necessary stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with mandatory processes
- Manage staffing in line with project objectives
- Delegate work to Project Managers & Program Managers
- Set and review performance targets for individuals and the team
- Manage risk, issue, and change resolution processes and take corrective action as needed
- Oversee timely and within-budget delivery of projects/programs by Project Managers
Resource Management:
- Keep track of resource needs and availability of resources to manage project prioritization
- Anticipate needs for future and make resources available according to those needs
- Make sure that we are providing necessary training to resources according to project needs
People Development:
- Use the assignments under PMO to train & develop our key talents
- Make sure to periodically rotate the people in & out of PMO to plants and other functions
- Identify people with strong leadership and good execution
Lead cross-functional projects and assist the North America (NAM) Supply Chain (SC) head in handling crucial topics and projects.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering or Supply Chain OR degree in business/project management
- Minimum 15-years of experience in a Supply Chain environment of a multinational corporation
- Strong experience in Supply Chain management of technical commodity
- Deep understanding of manufacturing and project management
- Clear understanding of the Schneider Electric industrial policies and practice
- Experience in driving strong & successful execution of project
- At ease in functional reporting (dotted/dual line reporting) as well as hierarchical mode (direct/solid line) in large matrix organizations
