PNCA PUBLIC PROGRAMS AND EVENTS ASSISTANTThe PNCA Public Programs & Events Assistant is responsible for coordinating and delivering electronic and print communications for PNCA's external programs, events, lectures and exhibitions. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Events and Public Programs and is responsible for graphic design, social media and other promotional materials related to PNCA's non-enrollment communications. This includes event invitations, marketing materials, press materials and social media coordination. Assists with event planning and coordination as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities- Writes, develops, and executes targeted electronic, print, and text communications to a variety of different audiences for non-enrollment college wide programs and events
- Manages social media channels for Center for Contemporary Art & Culture, Community Education and other non-academic departmental teams with relevant posts and photos
- Coordinates Dean's office newsletter and other college-wide event/program communications
- Manages submission of PNCA events on university and community event calendars
- Manages event invitations and event databases including for First Thursday, Exhibition, Thesis openings, symposia and other special events
- Creates signage for events
- Assists with volunteer coordination, catering and other logistical support for public events
- Attends community program and partnership meetings as assigned
- Under the direction of the Assistant Director, coordinates with Alumni office, Advancement office and President's office as needed related to special event promotion and management
- Work periodic weekends and evenings at public events
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in arts, writing, communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, or a liberal arts field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with management of website updates and social media applications
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and basic graphic design layout
- Familiarity with Mac and Google Suite operating systems
- Extremely strong attention to detail and ability to work and make decisions in a complex environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at one time
- Team player with a friendly, professional demeanor
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with art/cultural audience development (eg. work at a venue, museum, or cultural facility)
- Experience at an academic institution or working with students
- 1-3 years of experience working in marketing, communications, or a related field
Typical Work Schedule- The regular hours for this full-time position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or 8:30am-5:00p.m., Monday - Friday
- Overtime, holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required
- Regular hours may vary due to needs of the department
Physical Demands & Working ConditionsTypical work is performed indoors in a normal office environment Intermittent physical effort in event set up/take down may be required
