The City of Shelbyville is accepting applications for Certified Police Officer to establish an eligibilitylist.PLEASE NOTE: Individuals can qualify under two separate requirements
1) must have a minimum eighteen (18) months experience out of the last three (3) years employed as a full-time police officer; graduated from a full-time certified police academy and successfully completed probation in previous position.
2) minimum three (3) years' experience out of the last five (5) years employed as a full-time police officer; graduated from a full-time certified police academy or a part-time certified police academy with the full-time transition course.
All individual's training and experience must either qualify or would likely qualify the officer to become certified in the State of Illinois upon written request to the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
Additional requirements:
The selection process for the Certified Police Officer includes oral interviews with the Board of Police Commissioners. The process and the minimum qualifications are dictated by the Board's Rules and Regulations.
