Summary
Polysomnographic Sleep Technician Per Diem night shifts open at our 500 Congress Street, Quincy, MA site.
The nighttime polysomnographic technologist is primarily responsible for obtaining artifact-free polysomnographic data on two patients. The technologist must be able to recognize when sleep apnea is present; know when to initiate CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure); titrate CPAP to achieve an optimal therapeutic level; and, verify that all data is adequate and that all objectives are being met. The technologist must be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
* Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Current PPD (Mantoux/TB) results, and other requirements of hospitals
* High School Diploma required
* Preferred RPSGT Non-registered technologists must have completed or be registered for the AASM A-Step On-line Self-Study Modules prior to independently conducting studies, or must be enrolled in or have completed a CAAHEP accredited sleep technology training program, END program, or respiratory add-on track for sleep technology
* Outstanding patient care and interpersonal skills Ability to understand technical aspects of job such as troubleshooting equipment while also taking initiative to continue education
