The Certified Pool Operator is responsible for the overall maintenance, cleanliness, and operation of 9 pools for a premier NY swim school and management company.Essential Functions:
- Maintain water quality according to and above state standards including:
- Required chemical checks three times per day and maintain chemical log
- Addressing all water chemistry issues
- Maintaining a vacuuming schedule for all bodies of water
- Maintain pool chemicals in the event of pool closures and/or weather emergencies
- No hazardous materials or objects present
- Keep decks organized and clear of debris
- Maintain a washing schedule for all pool decks and deck mats
- Maintain a functional and organized pump room environment:
- Filters are backwashed
- Pump filter baskets are clear
- Water flow is clear and within proper limits
- Chlorine pumps are functional, lines are clean
- Chemical Controllers are calibrated and functioning
- Pump room is kept clear of debris
- Materials are stocked, available and in their labeled area. Communicate when materials are low-stocked and in need of order
- Work with the Director of Operations to consistently improve facility procedures and standards
- Maintain an open line of communication with the Director of Operations and Head Lifeguard Manager in the event of pool closures, equipment malfunctions, equipment/material refills, etc.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Pool Operators (CPO) license
- Current FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Supervising, Storage, Handling, and Use of Corrosives and Oxidizers (W-42)
- Minimum 3 years of work experience as a Certified Pool Operator (CPO), required
- Willingness to undergo a background check according to local law/regulations
- Must be able to lift, move, and handle chemicals responsibly
- Must be a team player
- Decision making and judgment focused on safety, prevention, and a high-quality user experience.
Work Environment:Work is mostly performed indoors, with 1 outdoor location, and in all weather conditions during the day or night. Work includes the use of or to be nearby large and loud operating equipment, overflow/drainage systems, and high-voltage electric systems
