Port Communications Dispatcher - Brevard County Sheriff's Office : Job Details

Performs specialized maritime dispatch, assists in port operational procedures, and serves as the public contact point for the Port Security Communications Center at Port Canaveral. Work involves responsibility for non-emergency calls, dispatching calls for service using the 800 M - Hz radio system, taking telephone messages, monitoring, replay, and making recordings using surveillance camera system during maritime incidents or investigation. Responsibilities include monitoring alarms, entrapment notifications and documenting all incidents; including calls for service; through the Computer Aided Dispatch System. Use of NCIC/ FCIC, use of License Plate Reader system. Must be able to multitask, ex: answer telephone calls, communicate using a radio while simultaneously entering the calls for service.
